Fruit Stickers
I spent five frustrating minutes last night peeling stickers off plums, so I was interested to hear about this article on the radio this morning.
I don't buy the argument that clerks need the stickers to process a more complicated array of produce. I went to Jerry's Produce in Niles a couple weeks ago -- some of the stuff had stickers on it and some didn't, and the teenage kid who rang up my order was able to fly through all the items without even looking for a single PLU. But when I go to Jewel, they can't even tell collards from kale.
