Yesterday, I was walking the dog west of Western along Walton, and I passed a mother and her young son. As I walked past, the boy started yelling something that I thought sounded like, "Hubashka, hubashka." Because I'm used to hearing cries of "Perro, perro" while I'm walking Morgan, I wondered if this little boy was crying something similar in Ukranian. I looked up "dog" in an online Ukranian-English dictionary, and I'm pleased to discover that might be the case:

dog собака, пес
[dog sobaka, pes]
