Lunch Time Stories
I was walking to the grocery store this afternoon, and I happened to overhear some conversation on the street. A woman was addressing her acquaintance:
"People say I got an attitude. I don't got no attitude. Just because I say I don't like n----z on the West Side, don't mean I got an attitude."
I was thinking I should say that, as a West Sider, I thought she did have an attitude, but I didn't feel like testing the theory.
When I got to the grocery store and was walking toward the carrot juice aisle, I noticed that "I Love Rock and Roll" by Joan Jett was playing in the background. A little while later it struck me as odd that Joan Jett is being used for muzak these days. Before you know it, she'll be on the playlist of En Kook's Ipod.
