The Compact Entered

After a trip this weekend to an outlet mall in the garlic capital of the world, I have officially entered my own personal compact.

I will not buy anything new* between now and November. My idea is that I'll grant myself three months out of the year (November, December and January) to buy new stuff, otherwise I will be rejecting our consumerist culture, as a protest of the environmental degradation and exploitation of global labor that supports it.

(*Excluding food and other necessary daily items of life, to be determined at my discretion.)
