I Never Saw This Video
I remember when I was in college, I came up with a complex theory about how three New Order songs were a trilogy about a psychopathic maniac, starting with "Perfect Kiss," then "1963" and finally "Blue Monday." That theory was dashed when I read an interview about "1963," in which one of the bandmembers explained that the lyrics were supposed to represent Jacqueline Kennedy pleading with JFK not to kill her ("Johnny, don't point that gun at me"). It was an alternate reality in which JFK's assasination was part of a botched plot to kill his wife.
