I got a new clock for my mantelpiece yesterday.  The problem is that my mantel is sloped, so the pendulum in the clock stops swinging after a couple minutes.  When I put the clock on a flat surface, such as the dresser pictured below, it works fine.  It chimes on the hour and half hour.  My Labor Day goal is to balance the clock on the mantel.
