After a Five Year Wait
I planted this wintersweet (Chimonanthus praecox) on September 5, 2010. For five years, it's been a an unremarkable shrub. But now for the first time, it's produced a few sweetly fragrant, waxy flowers. I hope this is a sign for winters to come:
