Since this post, the raspberry started looking less good, looked like yellowing up in spots, drying out, leaves turning brown and crinkling, even though I tried to water it pretty often. So, it is no longer under the spruce. Moved it out by the other perennials to see what happens. You know Bob Dylan says: there's no success like failure, and failure's no success at all.
